CONFIG.MSG - TAPEDISK Configuration Editor message file This file may be edited for other languages. The rules for adding a language are as follows: 1) English is the base language. Do not edit the English text. 2) Messages order is important. Do not alter the order of messages. 3) Messages are delineated with a vertical bar "|" followed by the keyword "msg" then followed by <cr><lf>. 4) The individual languages follow. The are delineated with a "|" as the message marker and immediately followed by the language name. 5) The text of the message flows from the line following the language marker up until the next "|". 6) Some messages end without a <cr><lf> and thus terminate with a "|". A <cr><lf> may follow the "|" for readability of the CONFIG.MSG file. 7) The first line of a message may have a length limitation. This will be indicated with a comment preceding the first line of the English text. 8) White space is important. Use the space character instead of the <tab> character for text indentation. Follow the indentation format of the English language. 9) If you add a language you must add all of the messages. Partial edits will break the code. 10) If you add a language you must send the CONFIG.MSG file back to TAPEDISK for consideration as a language to include with the standard package. 11) There are to be no Copyrights to the CONFIG.MSG file. 12) Message 1 can be used for an announcement ============================================================================= The supported languages are: v---- Note the language name must be followed by <cr><lf> |English Y) For answers of "yes". The purpose of this program is to produce, with your guidance, the necessary changes to your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. The TAPEDISK Configuration Editor will edit (or create) Microsoft DOS 6's Multiple Configuration Menu CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. We edit the older style MS-DOS 5 & 6's single configuration files as well. If you are a programmer or "power" user who normally edits these files manually, then you will pleasantly find that the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor is sufficiently powerful to automatically edit these files. We recommend that you let us modify your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. > pause *** Remove the TAPEDISK installation diskette. *** The TAPEDISK Configuration Editor no longer requires the TAPEDISK installation diskette. Remove the the TAPEDISK installation diskette and place it in your TAPEDISK box or in a safe place. We will be restarting your system as part of the installation process and we do not wish to damage the TAPEDISK software diskette. > pause Due to TAPEDISK requiring the cooperative effort of other software on your system, the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor will require you to answer questions about your system and preferences. You will also be required (perhaps several times) to restart your system. *** When directed to restart your system with the Ctrl-Alt-Delet keyboard *** sequence, use the keyboard! *** *** DO NOT use the Reset button! *** *** Use of the Reset button will cause problems if disk caching software is *** in use. > pause *** Requirement *** o The TAPEDISK Configuration Editor was designed to run from single user DOS. If you are currently running inside a DOS session inside Windows, then we recommend that you exit the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor, exit the DOS session and exit Windows. If your AUTOEXEC.BAT file is set up to automatically start Windows we recommend that you comment out the Windows startup or if you are using a MS-DOS Multiple Startup Configuration select from your menu a configuration that does not start Windows. If you forget to comment out the Windows startup the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor will comment out the Windows startup from AUTOEXEC.BAT. You can remove the "REM " inserted in front of "WIN" later. To restart the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor simply set the current directory to the TAPEDISK directory and enter the command "CONFIG". 1) Continue with the TAPEDISK Configuration Editor. | |Deutsch Willkommen zu dem TAPEDISK Konfiguration-Herausgeber.
